Wanderlust
“Afoot and lighthearted I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose.”
—Whitman
Bon Secour
Located on the Fort Morgan Peninsula of Alabama, the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge provides habitat for a variety of endangered wildlife, including the Alabama beach mouse and three species of sea turtles. The Refuge serves as a time capsule, a glimpse of the Gulf Coast in a previous life—before the arrival of highways and high-rises.
